Event description

Description

Sexual abuse and exploitation occurs in all communities and can have long-lasting impacts for the women, men and children who experience it. Over recent years, we have seen a rise in reports to the police and greater reporting in the media. This increased awareness means community and religious leaders are more likely than ever to receive disclosures about this form of crime.

CRASAC are offering community and religious leaders the opportunity to learn more about sexual violence and abuse directly from a specialist service. The session will cover the most up to date statistics, the impact of abuse on individuals and communities and use case studies to support leaders in developing effective responses for their own institution or group.

The session will be facilitated by CRASAC Outreach Workers who are experienced in working with a wide-range of Coventry communities. CRASAC are an award-winning organisation who have been working in Coventry for over 36 years. Most recently we were awarded a 2017 King’s Fund GSK Impact Award for our contributions to community health care.
