Description

Join us for an afternoon of inspiration, practical examples, and the space to connect and learn from each other.

Responsive organisations value a way of working that is designed for uncertainty.

Organisations are struggling to keep up with their customers. Executives caught between discontented investors and disruptive competitors are struggling to find a path forward. Workers caught between dissatisfied customers and uninspiring leaders are becoming disillusioned and disengaged. In contrast, Responsive Organisations are built to learn and respond rapidly by optimizing for the open flow of information, encouraging experimentation and learning on rapid cycles. They organise as a network of employees, customers, and partners motivated by shared purpose. You can learn more at http://www.responsive.org/

An experiment: See if you can get someone (who wouldn't ordinarily choose to attend) to sign up. Let's all try and get at least one person to sign up that wouldn't ordinarily choose to attend. They may be a Line Manager who enjoys command and control. They may be a Senior Manager who is maintaining the status quo to keep their predictable bonus til they retire. Maybe a colleague who resists change...and so on. Why? So we can learn about their mental model and the way they think, and hopefully to inspire. Why bother? If we all do, it will help make the event even more interesting, and accelerate the global shift we're all after. I've created a tweet we can send to spread word. You can see, edit and tweet by clicking here.

19:35 Unconference

A loose-structure session for us to self-organise to discuss the things that interest us the most. Anyone can propose a session. If you wanted to attend a workshop earlier and didn't have the chance, you could suggest a brief session on that. Feel free to prepare a session in advance and offer it on the day. You could also bring your own materials if you'd like to 'Do' or create things with others (as opposed to just talk). Want to have a 'problem-solving' session on an organisational challenge, or a specific topic that came up in the day - this is a chance to that!

21:10 Networking drinks
