Event description

Description

One of the aims of the Diversity Project is to accelerate progress towards an inclusive culture in the investment profession. We aim to achieve diversity across all dimensions, including gender, ethnicity, socio-economic background, LGBTI+, age and disability. An inclusive culture across all levels supports more effective teamwork, gives wider perspectives, better investment decisions, better results for our clients and ultimately more sustainable businesses.

About the Event

Restart is the Diversity Project’s first careers event for returning professionals. This event aims to support and engage people who have taken an extended career break and are now looking to return to the workforce. The event is suited for people who have previously worked in the financial or professional services sector. You will have an opportunity to engage with employees who have successfully returned and rediscover the exciting and fulfilling opportunities the industry has to offer.

The event will be divided into a number of sessions. Some sessions will aim to educate you on the career opportunities available and allow you to interact directly with representatives from participating firms. Our opening speaker, Dame Helena Morrissey, Chair of the Diversity Project and Head of Personal Investing at LGIM will talk about the importance of attracting returning professionals back into our industry. This will be followed by a panel discussion with returners, networking and practical skills sessions on developing your return to work career direction and improving your self-marketing.

Target Participant Profile

The event is targeted at experienced professionals with:

  • Interest and enthusiasm for the investment and savings industry and/or the financial markets.

  • Previous experience in financial services, banking or professional services prior to career break in roles such as Portfolio and Fund Management, Relationship Managers, Investment Advisory, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Audit, Compliance or Risk.
