About this event

About This Event

This masterclass is part of our restoration and recovery theme as we learn to live with Covid. The focus of the masterclass is to invest in the leadership role of participants: to support their own and their team’s mental health addressing issues that they face at work and enabling them to continue to engage with the mental health needs of their communities.

On a population-wide basis, the negative mental health effects of the pandemic are likely to last much longer than its physical health impacts. The effects of physical distancing, social isolation, and lockdown on individual mental wellbeing, as well as the loss of a loved one, increase the mental health challenges for the UK population. This event will enable you to pay attention to your own and your team’s mental health needs and to better engage with the mental health needs of the communities you work with. Mental health is largely determined by social determinants like poverty and discrimination, environmental factors like housing andgreen space and personal aspects including physical health and substance misuse.

The masterclass will explore how organisations and practitioners can improve these determinants as well as investing in their own and their team’s mental health as they do it.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the masterclass you will:

  • Have the time to consider your own health and wellbeing needs
  • Explore the health and wellbeing needs of your teams
  • Consider the mental health needs of the communities you serve
  • Explore how you can improve these determinants of health as we emerge from grip of the pandemic
