Event description

Description

In 2018, the First Minister for Scotland committed to the provision of consistent restorative justice across Scotland by 2023 as part of the annual Programme for Government. Following this, interest in this emotive area of justice has dramatically increased across public and third sector agencies, and a real appetite has developed for a Scottish restorative justice model that supports victims, communities and those who commit harm to maintain a voice and level of control in the justice process.

Community Justice Scotland, in partnership with Social Work Scotland, are delighted to bring one of three events on restorative justice planned for March 2019, to Aberdeen. Speakers for the event include Rania Hamad, Senior Practitioner - Hate Crime and Restorative Justice, City of Edinburgh Council Community Justice and Clifford Most from The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.

Tea and coffee will be provided prior to an 1000 start, and during the interval. The main event concludes at 1300, following a question panel with speakers. At 1300 soup and a sandwich will be provided. This event is prioritised for Social Work staff in Scotland currently, and we look forward to seeing you then.
