About this event

  • Event lasts 6 hours 30 minutes

This short course focuses on one of the 3 Functions of Supervision (Brigid Procter's model which has stood the test of time). Restorative Supervision is about resilience and coping with the emotional/stressful aspects of clinical and managerial roles. Sometimes this called Supportive Supervision.

It is also about my discovery and utilisation of the Restorative Resilient research project and its approach to Clinical Supervision. It was a true reflective journey when I realised there were more effective strategies than I was utilising at that time for supporting people who were experiencing a period of stress and vulnerable to burnout.

Course Content includes:

• The 3 Functions of Clinical/Professional Supervision

• Focusing on Restorative Supervision – what is it about

• Avoiding Burnout and Stress in 'people professions’

• Sonya Wallbanks approach & research

• Supervision is yours- it is about you

• Supporting people differently at different times

• From active listening/reflective practice/coaching

ARC Supervision Stand Alone Supervision Seminars (for Continuing Professional Development)

A Calendar of Stand Alone Seminars, spotlighting those 'topics' which frequently arise in supervisory conversations.

The format is a presentation of techniques/theory on that Seminar topic e.g. Having a Good Day at Work; Time Management Techniques. This short presentation will be followed by reflective conversation between those attending. Learning some theory and sharing insights with colleagues through discussion.

This is CPD for your Self Development/Reflective Practice.
