Join Yellow Beacon CIC for our FREE 8-week course: Restore & Recover - Mindfulness for Autistic Adults.
This is for people with a diagnosis and those who are self-identifying or awaiting assessment.
This course is for residents in Gorton, Manchester only -15 places available.
Yellow Beacon is a mental health professional and lived-experience led organisation offering trauma-informed mindfulness courses, workshops and 1 to 1 sessions across Greater Manchester. We are passionate about helping you grow your own inner resources for greater mental and emotional wellbeing. Our Restore & Recover course is being run in partnership with HAPI - Neurodivergent Practitioners and is funded by the One Manchester Community Fund.
Our FREE Restore & Recover course will support you to:
- Use mindfulness in everyday life to improve mental and emotional wellbeing.
- Reduce anxiety, stress, depression and burnout.
- Experiment with a range of tools to create regulation and stability.
- Understand how your nervous system responds to stress.
- Explore mindfulness tools to help with pacing.
- Learn how to work with your own sensory patterns to identify what works best for you.
- Develop skills to work with different types of thoughts.
- Learn how to work with your emotions.
Course dates:
The course will run on Tuesdays, from 1.00pm - 3.00pm each week at the Gorton Hub, Garratt Way, Manchester, M18 8HE.

Booking information:
On receipt of your request for a place, we will forward you a questionnaire to complete so that we can assess your suitability for attending the course. This also helps us understand what you would like to gain from attending, and if there are any ways we can best support you to access the sessions. If you need assistance to complete the form, we will be happy to help. We will only be able to confirm your place once this process is complete.
In order to take care of psychological safety, we are unable to admit people to the course without a prior assessment taking place.
Places are limited and we ask that you commit to attending all eight sessions of the course.

Car parking - There is a car park on site, which is free to use for up to 3 hours.

Train - The closest train stations are Gorton and Belle Vue.
Accessibility:
The room we will be using is on the ground floor with accessible toilets. We will send you a video of the space once we confirm your booking. Feel free to bring anything that support your regulation, such as fidget toys, sunglasses or headphones for example.

Facilitators:
Kay is an experienced trauma-focused therapist, mindfulness teacher and yoga practitioner, who works delivering counselling at Next Chapter CIC to neurodivergent people and their families. She has an active career as an autism trainer, working with Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, Manchester Metropolitan University, The Triple A Project and Next Chapter. Kay is the founder of HAPI CIC.
Kirsty is a mental health professional with ten years’ experience in the charity sector in Greater Manchester. She is an experienced mindfulness teacher, specialising in trauma-informed practices for mental wellbeing. She is passionate about helping people develop mindfulness skills in a trauma-informed way that supports stability and regulation. Kirsty is the founder of Yellow Beacon CIC.
We are both neurodivergent practitioners.
This 8-week Restore & Recover course is funded by the One Manchester Community Fund.

Frequently asked questions
The course is for up to 15 people.
The course is designed to help you build your skills gradually, so wherever possible, we ask that you attend each session to get the most out of the course.
We understand that people may miss a week due to unforseen circumstances such as illness, medical appointments, or if a school holiday falls within the 8 weeks. If you miss more than 2 sessions, we will withdraw your place and invite you to attend the next available course.

Unfortunately, no. The course is for adults aged 18 or over.
The venue is on the ground floor with accessible toilets. We will send you a video of the space on receipt of your booking.
