About this event

Mental Health Navigation: An established method for reducing pressure on primary care by supporting people to address their unmet non-clinical needs.

In Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, Rethink Mental Illness has been trialling the use of a mental health navigator to improve the community support for people severely affected by mental illness. In February 2022, this service was expanded to cover all surgeries in the PCN, we are now looking to support other PCN’s with implementing this model and have put together a good practice guide with our partner charities, Mental Health UK, MindWise, Support in Mind Scotland and Adferiad Recovery who have also been trialling this model.

This is an opportunity to hear about Mental Health Navigation and how it reduces pressure on primary care in the context of rolling out the community mental health framework.

The session will be chaired by Helen Garnham, Rethink Mental Illness' Head of Equality and Social Determinants with special speakers. We will be holding a Q&A with the speakers and Rebecca Stern, Rethink Mental Illness’ Head of Primary Care Mental Health Support Services.
