Welcome to the Rethinking Assessment Practice Network!

New for 2026! The RA Practice Network is free for all schools and colleges and provides access to a programme of online events throughout the academic year, designed for teachers, lecturers, leaders and practitioners who want to explore what is possible in the world of assessment.

Our aim is to convene a space for inspirational big picture thinking, together with practical support and strategies to build staff confidence and understanding.

This session: Wed February 25th 4-5pm

Louise Tempest, Head Teacher of Hayfield Lane Primary School, Doncaster asks,

'How can integrating critical and creative thinking skills support maths progress?'

As part of the Network’s strand on assessment design for skills and dispositions, Head Teacher, Louise Tempest with share Hayfield Lane's journey in redesigning the curriculum to integrate critical and creative thinking skills into maths teaching and assessment - and the impact that has been seen so far. Recordings will only be sent to those who attend, as space is limited.

What is the network? Sponsored by AQA, the RA Practice Network offers a curated programme of expert voices on assessment methods, assessment design for skills, and AI in assessment, together with teachers and school leaders sharing the current working projects.
