About this event

Focusing on a formulation-driven cognitive therapy approach to OCD, this training will guide the learner through helping clients to understand and become unstuck from their OCD.

This training presents an integration of core Beckian Cognitive Therapy with the schools of Existentialism, and the social psychology field of Self Discrepancy Theory to equip learners with a strong foundation to support their clients with OCD and related conditions.

Learners will be taught about the history of OCD, where Cognitive Therapy may be a better fit than traditional Exposure Therapy, and understand the deep roots and paths of OCD in individuals, and how to meet them at this deep level in treatment.

Aiming to provide an alternative treatment approach than Exposure Therapy, this training shows how successful treatment of OCD relies on an intimate understanding of our clients life history and bespoke view of the world, in order to help guide them to resolution of their suffering.

Why would someone want to do this course/workshop?

Participants will learn an updated and expanded Cognitive Therapy formulation approach to OCD which offers an alternative to Exposure Based Therapy.

Participants will learn how to formulate OCD from an integrative perspective, integrative Cognitive, Existential, Interpersonal and Social Psychology, fields of thinking.

Who is this event for?
