Event description

Description

Learn more about power and political struggle in early modern or modern Europe. This taster day offers a choice of either Tudor England or Modern Russia. It is particularly suitable for students studying one of these subjects at A Level, but it’s open to all sixth formers considering studying history at university.

The day will feature a taster lecture from one of Royal Holloway’s world-renowned historians. Anna Whitelock, winner of the 2015 PEN Biography Award, will give the lecture on the Tudors. Daniel Beer, winner of the 2017 Cundhill History Prize, will give the lecture on Russia. The day will also include a taster seminar, a campus tour and a practical session on UCAS applications and making the transition to university.

Teachers accompanying school groups should register as well so we can track attendance numbers.
