Description

Retreat: Medicine Buddha with Geshe Graham

Saturday 3 & Sunday 4 Mar | 10:00 – 17:00

ABOUT THE RETREAT

The FPMT has made available three Medicine Buddha practice texts, extensive, middling and brief. The medium-length one, the Wish-fulfilling Jewel by Panchen Losang Chokyi Gyaltsen, is often recited at Jamyang London. The shorter one, the Medicine Buddha Sadhana by Ngawang Losang Tempa Gyaltsen, is particularly useful to practise at short notice and in emergencies. Lama Zopa Rinpoche has given many Medicine Buddha empowerments recently. Obviously he values the practice extremely highly. He emphasizes its enormous benefits. A human life is as unlikely and evanescent as a rainbow. Three of its four marks are aging, sickness and death. We need the power of healing. From where will it come? The weekend will be a chance for ordinary practitioners to become familiar with how to do both the medium-length and shorter practices and reap the benefits, for oneself and others, for the living, the dying and the recently dead.
