Return of the Doncaster Freelancer Day (Jelly Event)
Thu 6 April 2017, 10:30 – 13:30 BST
What is a Freelancer Day?
The Freelancer Days have been organised by a group of freelancers with the assistance of Limitless Doncaster with the aimed at supporting initially digital and creative based freelance businesses but also other freelancer and co workers that might be looking for friendly and comfortable place to work flexibly
They have made available a shared space for other freelancers to work on their own projects; collaborate with others and/or meet with clients over coffee in an informal area.
The event is built on the Jelly events – where freelancers can work informally and collaborate with other. We are particularly looking to attract freelancers, co-workers and other small businesses who are often home based, to share the space. Importantly, there is space to bring your laptop; as well as the opportunity to develop new working relations; chat and collaborate with other small business owners.
The event will retain the ethos of Jelly as being accessible to all. The venue, wifi and parking are provided FREE of charge.
This event is open to freelancers and small businesses from any business sector…..the more the merrier! So if working from the back bedroom or the front room table….why not join us
Please note: for those sales oriented networkers - this is not a network event or place to push your business card … it is a place to work, collaborate and enjoy talking and listening to fellow freelancers / small business owners.
How did Jelly evolve?
Jelly was established in 2006, when two New York freelancers were talking about a major drawback of working alone; namely the lack of company. They decided to invite a group of freelancers to bring their laptops and work together in their apartment for the day, and called it Jelly as they were eating jelly beans at the time! http://www.uk-jelly.org.uk/
Doncaster Freelancer Day will provide the space, tables, chairs, wifi, tea and coffee - you just bring your laptop. We ask that you book a place so that we can arrange a space for you: a desk and connection for you as well as a spare mug for your coffee / tea. Please remember to bring your lunch box.
To book to reserve your place and to ensure enough milk for your coffee / tea........
Venue is in the centre of Doncaster; next to train and bus station. There is ample car parking space located in a 2 mins walk from the Church View centre.
