Return to University Accommodation Spring 2021
Event Information
About this Event
The Minister for Universities announced on Monday 22nd February that students on university courses which require practical teaching, specialist facilities or onsite assessments will return but all others need to continue teaching online for the time being. This is a booking system for those on such courses to return to the University in a covid-safe manner. Please click on the tickets associated with your faculty only. Please select a time slot to return, and ensure that you try your best to stick to the time slot.
Key Points:
- The Minister for Universities stated that there is an expectation that all staff and students participate in regular Covid-19 testing onsite at the University. We have a free, onsite testing facility at the Sports Hall. Once you have book a slot to return to the accommodation, you must book a Covid test as soon as possible when returning to Winchester, and ensure you continue doing so twice a week. This is the link to book a Covid test: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/CovidTestingWinchester@Unimailwinchesterac.onmicrosoft.com/bookings/ .
- When returning, no visitors are allowed in the accommodation unless in an approved, legal support bubble which has been approved by the Housing team. If you are living on your own when you return and want to enquire about forming a bubble, then email us on Housing@winchester.ac.uk.
- Please follow the Government guidelines at all times. Please also familiarise yourself with the Housing Regulations you signed to refresh your memory on our rules on guests, health and safety and more.
- If when you return, you test positive for Covid-19 , you need to ensure you notify the University as soon as possible via the QR codes in your halls of residences. This is also the case if you have Covid-19 symptoms.
- If you have forgotten or lost your key and you cannot get into the accommodation, please contact Security when you arrive on 01962827666. Please be patient with them as there may be a few lockouts during the return.
- Face coverings are mandatory in student outdoor spaces on campus, in shared communal areas such as lifts and stairs but not in your flat/house unless exempt.
Please note that you should only be returning to campus and booking on to return if you have been contacted by your course about on-campus activity recommencing w/c 8th March. All students were emailed this list on the 23rd February from SMT. If you are not on the listed courses and returning to campus through one of the Government's exemptions, then please contact us directly on Housing@winchester.ac.uk.
If you are an overseas student who needs to quarantine upon arrival, please contact Housing as soon as possible on Housing@winchester.ac.uk.
We wish you a safe journey back to Winchester and we are looking forward to welcoming you back!
Best wishes,
Student Housing Services
