Returning to our Roots
Sat 29 July 2017, 10:00 – 16:00 BST
A day (retreat) to experience praying and meditation in Aramaic. Led by Revd Dr. Jenny Williams
During this day we will speak, sing and chant words from the Lord’s Prayer gradually adding simple movements in a devotional manner. There will be times for learning, for reflection in silence, for sharing and there will be space to be on your own as well our togetherness of voice and heart.
Jenny Williams was inspired by living in the Christian community of Taize in France; nurtured by being in an interfaith ashram in India and formed in ministry within an ecumenical Christian healing fellowship. Through the work of Neil Douglas-Klotz (www.abwoon.com) she has worked for twenty years with the Aramaic language that Jesus spoke that has deepened and expanded her own faith journey and now seeks to share with others. She is an ordained minister of the Church of Scotland and currently is working as a locum and alongside that developing pastoral supervision for ministers and church workers.
Cost £25 Bring your own lunch. Tea and coffee will be available at the Othona Community.
