<h1>“Reuniting after Separation”</h1><h3>•	With a focus on story of Yusuf/Joseph and his father Yacub/Jacob we will focus on what we learn by separation?</h3><h3>•	What changes?</h3><h3>•	What are the challenges of reuniting?</h3><p>The workshop is for both women and men. You do not need to be an expert in your faith tradition but a basic understanding will be useful. Introductory information about both Islam and Judasim will be sent out to all participants prior to attending and a study book will be handed out on the day for the workshop itself.</p><p>Fees include a light lunch.</p><p><strong>THIS IS A BI-LATERAL WORKSHOP FOR JEWS &amp; MUSLIMS ONLY.</strong></p><p><strong>BACKGROUND</strong></p><p>This dialogue group is a partnership between the An-Nisa Society &amp; the Lyons Leaning Project with our regular teachers Shaikha Halima Krausen and Rabbi Sybil Sheridan. </p><p>The dialogue group has been running since 2003. We work in a text based way and provide a safe place for discussion and learning.</p><p><strong>AN-NISA SOCIETY</strong> was set up in 1985 and works for the welfare of Muslim families. Our activities include a range of initiatives with a focus on nurturing individuals and families, strengthening local communities and support structures and promoting and developing services that are faith friendly. An-Nisa Society is also committed to engaging in dialogue with other faiths and cultures in order to promote harmony and co-existence.</p><p><strong>SHAIKHA HALIMA KRAUSEN</strong> became Muslim in her early teens, eventually learning Arabic and studying with visiting Muslim scholars and travelling extensively in the Muslim world. In 1992, she completed her studies in Hamburg that included Islamic Law and Theology with Imam Razvi, the leading scholar in Hamburg&#x27;s Muslim Community, as well as Islamic studies, Christian Theology and Comparative Religion at the university. In 1985, Shaikha Halima became a founding member of the Inter-Religious Dialogue Circle at the Department of Theology at Hamburg University. Finally, in 1993 she helped found the educational institute Initiative for Islamic Studies and succeeded Imam Razvi as the head of the German-speaking community. After having been the imam for German speaking Muslims for 20 years, she now works for an interfaith association and teaches at Hamburg University.</p><p><strong>THE LYONS LEARNING PROJECT </strong>is an independent, progressive adult Jewish learning forum. Based in central London, we are now accessible to a wider audience online. Our mission is to bring high quality educators to an audience of open, questioning individuals to learn and enjoy our religious and cultural heritage. </p><p><strong>RABBI SYBIL SHERIDAN</strong>  was born in Bolton, Lancashire and was one of the first non Christians to gain a degree in Theology and Religious Studies from Cambridge University.  Sybil has in the past taught at the Leo Baeck College, at the Muslim College, and occasionally for the Cambridge Theological Federation.  She remains deeply committed to interfaith dialogue, an interest born out of her experiences at university, and is involved in countless interfaith organisations. Her particular interest is in Muslim Jewish dialogue and especially between women and co-chaired Home Office International Conference for Women in Judaism and Islam. Author of Stories from The Jewish World, and editor of Hear our Voice, and Taking up the Timbrel, she has contributed to a number of books and journals on the subject of interfaith dialogue and women in Judaism. In October 2020, Rabbi Sybil became the Chief Executive of the Lyons Learning Project, a space for online and discussion.
