In partnership with Glasgow Circular Economy Club (more partners TBC) we present reuse and repair innovation in organisations.

Attend this workshop if you are interested in maximising the reuse and repair of furniture and equipment within & between organisations in the city , region and country.

10.00 Welcome: Teas and coffees

Session 1 Buy in and making progress

10.20  5 ways to get senior buy in and more resources to support your projects

TBC from TBC draws from numerous sustainability projects, to give you top tips on getting senior buy and ongoing resources for reuse and repair projects in your organisation, city or region.

10.40 5 Barriers to Reuse and how to overcome!

Andy Hay Procurement Planning Manager from NHS Tayside talks about how they have smashed their reuse targets. In this session they discuss the barriers they have faced getting staff to adopt reuse practices and their top tips for success.

11.00 Breakout session. How can you get commitment from varying stakeholders?

How to get procurement, FM, senior managers, capital development , operational or general staff excited about reuse. What are their hooks? What are their objections?  What do they struggle with on a day to day basis? Each team will be given a persona to explore from the above. You will come up with ideas on how to get them to adopt reuse practices. 

Session 2 Increasing participation in reuse

11.20 How to get a whole sector to adopt reuse and repair practices. 

TBC from TBC talks about how to roll out a reuse program out across a whole sector with a myriad of isseus like buy in , transport, city versus rural, communications and ongoing resources.

11.40 In house and external IT reuse, repair and refurbisment

Alan Peddie Sustainable Projects Manager from the University of Edinburgh talks about how to build meanigful collaboration internally and partnerships with other organsiatons to maximse IT repair and reuse. 

12.00  10 quick actions you can take to increase participation.

Daniel from Warp It gives 10 tips that you can take which take less than 2 hours to pull together but have a massive impact on particpation.

12.40 How to identify suitable items for reuse and repair in a large hospital site

Elaine Gray, Purchasing Lead from NHS Glasgow & Clyde set up a reuse system and then went about repairing and refurbishing challenging items. She talks about the lessons they have learned over the last few years.

13.00 Innovation for procurement, FM, waste and sustainability

When it comes to reuse, waste or sustainability...What gives you the most headache at work? What is always on your to do list? What is the most expensive action? What takes the most time? What makes you say "There must be an easier way?". 

In this break out session you will split into groups relating to your own area of expertise. Waste, FM, Procurement, Sustainability etc .

We will explore the common problems that you face in pursuing your day to day objectives. We will identify common areas of pain and you will start to generate some ideas to ease that pain.

We will then group assess the most fruitful ideas for futher development.


13.45  The way forward: How to set up a city and region wide sharing network. 

TBC from TBC Council wraps up the event with an action plan on how to facilitate more collaboration between the main players in your city and region. You will leave this session with a clear way forward for planning your reuse and repair program in your city or region. 


14.00 Conculsion, discussion and networking

Warp It Reuse Network

We want to make the reuse mainstream.

Customers were telling us they want to meet other Warp It customers to share experiences and improve their own reuse.

This is the first round of regional Warp It Workshops.

If you are interested in improving organisational reuse then please come. Whethe you are a Warp It customer, or you have your own system to reuse surplus assets in your organisaiton.

The following events are specifically aimed at staff within procurement, FM, sustainability, waste, planning, capital development,  space and asset management roles within large organisations. 

Warp It's mission for the last 15 years has been to make the reuse of assets easy. Warp It has saved organisations over £12 million in avoided waste and procurement charges developing reuse schemes.
