Reuse of Foundations (RuFUS), The Opportunities for Development, Bristol
Event Information
Description
The rich history of Bristol means it has many existing buildings and former industrial sites that have the potential for foundation re-use; whether it be shallow foundations on the sides of Brandon Hill or Totterdown or the deeper foundations from the redevelopment of post war Bristol around the Floating Harbour or the River Avon. By using a recently completed development as an exemplar the speakers will offer thoughts on the opportunities that reuse of foundations present for inner city development.
Richard Ball, Technical Director at CGL will address the assessment of existing foundation system and the opportunities that sophisticated analysis can offer to save project costs, programme and environmental impact if the existing foundations can be fully or part utilised and remove the need for new foundations.
Doors will open from 7:30 for networking with hot drinks and a breakfast roll. The presentations will run from 8:00 to 8:45 with time afterwards for questions and discussion.
