About this event

In this talk, Matt Edmonds of Pre-Construct Archaeology (PCA) will present the initial results of the more recent excavations by PCA at Holywell Priory (Shoreditch) where they unearthed a sequence of archaeology that included some significant Roman and Medieval remains.

The priory occupied some nine acres just north of the medieval City of London, in what is now the dynamic creative and social hub of Shoreditch. Its precinct was particularly associated with reputed holy well, but the value of the land led its extensive redevelopment over the centuries.

Modern regeneration has now provided a number of opportunities for archaeological investigation.
