About this event

Community • Heritage

A millennium ago, England’s first Jewish community was established in the City of London, and their vast, long-forgotten cemetery lies directly beneath today’s iconic Barbican. Recent research has revealed its likely boundaries and astonishing scale: the remains of over 10,000 people may rest beneath this iconic modern estate.

The exhibition which runs from 5th to 16th September, 10 am to 5 pm daily, is the work of The Jewish Square Mile Project, supported by St Giles Cripplegate, the Corporation of London, City of London School for Girls and Culture Mile BID
