Event description

Description

NHS England is responsible for commissioning specialised services for people living with sickle cell disease (SCD), thalassaemia (which are known collectively as haemoglobinopathies), together with other rare anaemias. As numbers of people living with these conditions continue to rise, including those living in suburban areas, further from our larger hospitals, NHS England is looking at whether services are currently provided in the right way to ensure that wherever you live you can access the best possible care enable equitable access to the highly specialised treatments that can be required.

Following a series of engagement events with patients, carers & professionals, we now have some clearer ideas about how these services could work better in the future. We would like to give people an update to share what we have heard, and how we think we could work differently to make sure that people have access to the care they need, wherever they live across England.

This webinar is aimed at people living with sickle cell, thalassaemia and other rare anaemias, and their families or carers. Don't worry if you've never joined a webinar before - we will send step by step instructions in advance. It's free to join - all you need is access to a telephone and a laptop or computer screen - so that you can see and hear the presentation.
