A key element of the revised Yr 3 will be ‘Clinical Reasoning Case Discussions’. This will be in the form of a large group session, where students will work through an unseen clinical case with a Session Lead and Facilitators. Students will be required to demonstrate their knowledge acquisition, cognition and ability to transfer knowledge during this session. The use of real-world scenarios will encourage students to develop diagnostic skills and begin to understand cognitive errors inherent in this process. The students will also attend sessions on "Patient Centred Consulting" on the same day to allow flexibility to discuss issues as they become topical, such as discharge planning, community services, care and compassion. This workshop will explain the session process, the roles of Session Leads and Facilitators and how it fits with the revised programme.
