We are so excited to bring to you a collaboration of Flourishing Childhood's Understanding why children 'Misbehave' workshop and playful dancing with Izzy from Grooveforu at Barcombe Village Hall.
Sharing a holistic approach to parenting that nurtures the parent and ultimately the child. Delcious snacks will be provided during the day.
P lease note this is a parent only event. (Babies under 6 months can attend)
Benefits include:
Unleashing Playfulness and Joy:
Dancing with Izzy from Grooveforu will awaken parents' inner playfulness and bring forth a sense of joy and lightheartedness. Through dance, you can let go of stress, express yourselves creatively, and experience the pure pleasure of movement, helping you reconnect with your own sense of playfulness.
Enhanced Parent-Child Bond:
The workshop provides parents with tools and techniques to strengthen their connection with their child. Understanding why children behave in unwanted ways can transform your lens and how we support them.
Trusting Our Inner Wisdom
We will end the day with a creative activity called Soul Collage. The process helps us access our inner wisdom to support us on our parenting journey.
Community and Support:
Connect with other like-minded individuals who are also seeking to foster flourishing childhoods. You can share experiences, exchange ideas, and form a supportive network, creating a sense of belonging and community.
Overall, parents can expect to enjoy an engaging and interactive workshop, indulge in a delicious and nourishing food, experience the joy of dance, get creative and connect with a community of parents!

‘Movement and stillness is so beneficial for our well being. Dance is one way to move and have fun! It is the way I feel the most joy from, and I love sharing that with anyone who wants to.'
I have been involved in movement, dance and immersive dance for over two decades now. This has progressed through a few different forms and now I am facilitating sessions for anyone who wants to come along to experience the many benefits of dancing and doing that together. My sessions are for ANYONE who is interested in having fun, there are no expectations or judgements. I am passionate about creating a space where people (I encourage any gender, age, physical or mental abilities or however they identify) to feel safe, empowered and encouraged to let loose, have fun and adore themselves in the process.
There is a large amount of science as to why dancing is good for us for so many physical and mental health reasons, which I am very interested in, but it’s the magic and spontaneous joy it brings so often that I adore. Seeing that on peoples faces and hearing how it has overflowed into other parts of their life is incredible.
My sessions are a smorgasbord of genres and anything goes, cheeky pop, a lot of Lizzo, Afro, dancehall, soca, waacking and whatever feels good. The sessions are follow the leader style and the moves are broken down at different tempos to make them ‘grooveable’. I don’t expect you to dance a certain way I just want you to have fun and leave smiling.
