I’ve been building something IMPORTANT over the past few years, without even realising.

It's a career-saving topic. For marketers.

But first, the backdrop...

I studied marketing at University, and I did well.

I got awesome jobs in great companies, and I worked on some amazing brands.

For example, in my first job at Britain's biggest electrical retailer Dixons, I managed the entire games category for the group, across over 1200+ stores, and I got to do things that changed the games industry.

And that was just my first job. In another business, I got the Call of Duty brand. Starting with a concept on paper, I got to build it into a household name and it won a BAFTA award back in 2003.

After being headhunted, and taking on more roles with great challenges, I went on to some highly strategic roles, in huge telco organisations that needed shifts in mindset and behaviours right across those organisation to succeed.

My career was flying!

But unintentionally, those roles were keeping my exposure to Digital Marketing to a minimum.

As the years were passing, I didn't realise but this was was a silent 'career' killer.

At 15 years in my marketing career, I was made redundant (third time).

That was a great opportunity to rethink what I wanted to do. And then I started to apply for new roles.

But here's what happened...

It was proving difficult to secure a role because most people were looking for a better understanding of digital. I wasn't getting many interviews, let alone job offers.

So all those feathers in my hat, like Call of Duty, for example, didn't really help enough.

It was a huge surprise and massive disappointment, that all those amazing achievements had become less and less relevant in the digital age.

They we're future proof. I wasn't future proof.

So I knew I needed to know digital. But there was no quick fix.

That was the moment I began to learn digital, whilst making the best use of my old skills in consulting roles.

I worked days, and studied nights - for years!

I ended up building an enormous puzzle of digital marketing pieces, but I didn't really understand how they all fit together. Like, when to use what, why, and how.

The more I learned, the more confusing it became.

During that long, difficult journey, there were many moments when I just wanted to give up and see where things go.

But I knew I had to evolve and grow, or else my career would crash and burn.

Today, I understand digital across the board, and I have saved my career.

I've had job offers where the required marketing skillset leans heavily on digital marketing.

But MOST IMPORTANTLY, people want me my marketing expertise because I'm different to pure digital marketers...

My understanding of marketing now is....HOLISTIC.

I'm up-to-date. I'm current. I'm saved. I'm sleeping at night. And I'm in demand.

I decided to help a few people who are in the same situation as I was. The hardest things was recognising and accepting the problem.

But once you do, it's a scary place. And despite the variety of digital marketing courses out there, they still represent pieces of a puzzle.

There are no short-cuts to learn what I learned, but there certainly is a more efficient way - in hindsight.

So I've put together a unique opportunity to learn how to get out of this situation.

It's not a digital marketing course. See it as a career-saving seminar, because we're going to talk in depth about the journey, how it progressed, how it felt, the difficulties, but we're also going to talk about the key pieces of the digital marketing jigsaw.

From one old-school marketer to another, in a way that will make more sense than taking a variety of courses on specific topics.
