RJ Working is collaborating with Wild Card! We are inviting families, dogs, local nature enthusiasts and anyone interested to attend a dynamic and educational event on Thurdsay 10th July from 4-7pm. We are proposing to hold this event at Idless Woods, near Truro but haven't quite confirmed this yet so stay tuned!!
RJ Working have been selected to partner with national charity Wild Card. We want to engage with local communities to support Forestry England in restoring ancient woodlands across the Southwest.
Just 2.6% of England’s land is covered by ancient woodland and almost half of this precious habitat has been chopped down and replaced with regimented lines of plantations for timber. An area greater than the Isle of Wight stands silent, waiting for the chance to burst with life again.
This event is part of a national action to encourage Forestry England to restore its land as they are currently failing their targets.
We believe public voices are vital for making change and we want Forestry England to see how much the community cares about ecology and nature. Let's put pressure on Forestry England to restore their Ghost Woods and create a haven for wildlife!
There will be activities run by local professionals and educators on the beauty and importance of restoring and caring for ancient woodlands and a potluck food sharing.
