About this event

This space is a warm, welcoming place to come together with other Black and Brown folks (including cis, trans and non-binary), where we can explore, reflect and share thoughts and ideas with each other on this month's chosen book. Or you can just listen in and chill out, if you prefer, in a judgement-free zone.

Curious to discover and step into future, radiant versions of you? Grab your book, a cuppa and a comfy chair and tune in for a magical conversation in community. There’s no pressure or schedule, it’s just an opportunity to delve into books written by Black and Brown folks for Black and Brown folks, which centre our experiences and support our self-growth, joy, creativity, spiritual growth and our collective liberation.

I'm neuro-diverse and often struggle to read and absorb entire books these days, so would welcome this monthly space as an opportunity to keep me accountable to read and digest books that will nurture future, radiant versions of me.

The sessions will take place on Zoom, lasting an hour fifteen from 6pm – 7.15pm (UK time) usually on the second Tuesday of each month and we'll start each session with a short grounding practice.

Disrupting perfectionism, reclaiming authenticity

Please feel free to show up even if you haven’t finished the book. Let's disrupt perfectionism, the inner critic, imposter syndrome and all that stuff imposed by the capitalist system. You're welcome to show up here exactly as you are.

Please note this is a new space, so it’s all a beautiful experiment.

The books we’ll read:

Frequently asked questions

When will we meet?

We'll aim to meet on the second Tuesday of every month between 6pm - 7.15pm UK time on Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent out on the day.

Does it matter if I haven't finished the book?

Not at all. This is a space where we strive to actively disrupt perfectionism, the inner critic, imposter syndrome etc. and welcome people wherever they are at with whatever contribution they have capacity for.

What if I can't or don't want to buy all these books new?

These ideas could help. There are online second-hand bookshops like World of Books. Many books are often available for borrowing online from the Libby or BorrowBox apps (local library membership needed) and heavily discounted books are often available at online book stores like BookCase London.
