About this event

Some friendships are written in the stars. Others are forged in playground adventures, backyard escapades, and moments of pure, unfiltered childhood magic.

We want to hear YOUR story.

Join us for an afternoon of pure nostalgia where you'll get to share that incredible story about you and your childhood bestie. Was it a crazy bike ride? A treehouse conspiracy? That time you almost got caught doing something spectacularly mischievous?

Come share, laugh, and relive those moments of youthful glory.

We can't wait to see you there.

Open to those aged 16+ living or working in NW3.

We love our furry friends, but this is a pup-free gathering.

-----------------------------

The Locals (short for The League Of Conversationalists And Lovers of Stories) is a Community Interest Company that holds monthly events in NW3 to bring multi-generational neighbours together to share stories, to connect, and to just have fun.

Our vision is a world where no one feels isolated, where every generation feels valued, and communities thrive through meaningful connections that celebrate diversity, wisdom, and shared humanity.

Frequently asked questions

What is a typical event like?

While we will keep it organic/informal to meet what our Locals want, our events typically include: light drinks and snacks, welcoming remarks from a Locals founding member, introduction to the event theme/prompt ( to spark conversation), sharing of/listening to stories, and a give/get opportunity.

How long is each event?

Two Hours, from 14:00 to16:00

How often are events held?

We aim for the third Saturday or Sunday of each month.

Is it suitable for children?

While we love our littlest Locals, this event is only suitable aged 16+.

Is parking available?

Not at the host location, however you are welcome to seek paid or free parking locally.

Do I have to share my own story?

No, if you'd prefer to just listen or observe, that is absolutely fine. Many Locals are looking forward to sharing their own experiences so just having interested members of the community who want to listen is a welcome gift as well.

Can I do anything to prepare for the event?

No preparation is required. However if you'd like to think about the event's theme/prompt, and a story you might want to share related to it, you can do that.

Do I have to prepare for this event?

No. You can come as you are. Our only ask is that you are respectful, inclusive, and welcoming to other Locals at the event.

What is a Give & Get Session?

Part of Community is being able to rely on each other, sharing local stories, local values, and building local customs. This part of every event is the opportunity to offer to give something (time, experience, physical items, etc.) or ask for something (help, support, teaching, etc.).

Can I bring last minute guests?

Our events currently have a cap of people simply due to space. Thus, we respectfully ask that you only bring other guests who have registered for the event. If we find our Locals want to grow in size, we can look to larger locations.

Can I help to sponsor or support an event financially or in kind (food, drinks, other services)?

Absolutely- see our website (TheLocals.Events) where we outline ways you can support your Locals.

Do I have to live or work in NW3?

At least one of the persons in your party needs to. The reason for this is to ensure we all have a common foundation and a jumping off point upon which to build relationships.
