This course is suitable for anyone working with radio microphones and wireless monitoring systems in live event environments. You might be a live sound engineer, audio systems engineer, sound designer, AV installer, theatre technician, school AV technician, church engineer or anyone else in a role responsible for the management and operation of radio mic systems for live events.
Radio microphones and wireless in-ear monitoring systems are playing an ever increasing role in live event productions. From school assemblies to rock festivals, church services to west-end musicals, radio microphones are now a bread and butter element of live sound systems everywhere, yet the potential pitfalls are many: are your radio systems licensed and legal? How do you ensure multiple systems on a busy site are intermodulation free? What can you do to protect yourself from interference and poor RF performance?
This course will present a detailed look at managing radio systems in live event environments through a mixture of theory and practical demonstrations using products and software tools from the industry leading manufacturers including Shure and Sennheiser. You'll also learn about the latest regulations, licensing and how upcoming developments in wireless spectrum allocation are going to impact on PMSE users for live events.

- Frequency plotting and licensing.
- What is intermodulation, why is it a problem and how to design your systems so that they are intermodulation free.
