About this event
Presenters: Dr Abbi Flint (University of Bradford), Dr Karina Croucher (University of Bradford), Dr Melanie Giles (University of Manchester)
Archaeology and poetry have a long association, from classic poems inspired by artefacts to contemporary work that reflects on the meaning of heritage in the 21st century.
In this online workshop, three archaeologists will share and reflect on how they have used poetry in their work and invite you to write your own archaeology inspired poem.
Together, we will consider:
How might poetry bring together diverse voices about archaeology?
How might poetry build connections between people, places and archaeology?
How might poetry start different kinds of conversations about local heritage?
The workshop is free to attend and is open to everyone - you don’t need to be a professional archaeologist or poet to come along.
