Rhythmn Of The City:
An introduction to pattern-making inspired by islamic geometry
Patterns surround us in the concrete jungle we live in, yet we hardly notice the harmony they bring to the urban-space around us. Silently they bring order to the visual landscape.
Soul City Arts invites you to a one-day intensive introduction to the art of pattern-making inspired by the world of islamic geometry. This session is aimed at beginners and will guide you through the prcesss of creating your own islamic patterns. The day is a taster session for full-courses that will be available soon.
Course tutor Shaheen Kasmani is a graduate from the Prince’s School of Traditional Art where she completed an MA in Visual Islamic Traditional Arts.
