Event description

Description

In the May edition of the RIBA Book Club event, two leading architects, thought leaders and authors, Paul Karakusevic, Partner of Karakusevic Carson Architects, and Julia Park, Head of Housing Research at Levitt Bernstein, will ask how and who we should be designing housing for.

A shortage of affordable, good quality housing has made housing one of the most emotive, political issues of our time.

By highlighting the insights from his book Social Housing, which features exemplary projects from across the UK and Europe, Karakusevic will demonstrate how new typologies, design approaches and refurbishment strategies can be optimised for low-cost housing.

Through the findings in her book Age-Friendly Housing Future Design for Older People, Julia Park will emphasise how shifting demographics and an increasingly older population, should be making us reconsider who we are designing housing for.

As an attendee of the event you will be able to purchase Social Housing and Age-Friendly Housing at a discounted price of £32 and £30 - save £10 on each. Once you’ve bought your ticket you will receive a confirmation email with the discount code. This can be used at the checkout on ribabookshops.com or in the Bookshop at 66 Portland Place.
