Join RIBA East Midlands members at this free event to hear the latest from the RIBA as well as a forum to network with like-minded professionals and discuss hot topics. Including lunch and an exclusive opportunity to see behind the scenes at the much anticipated unveiling of the £100m regeneration project at Nottingham Railway Station, the day will also include:

  • ‘RIBA For Clients’ an update by Richard Brindley, Executive Director Membership & Profession - Initial plans for the development of RIBA Client Services in 2014 and beyond.  A more co-ordinated approach to our client facing activity will create improved services to clients and more business opportunities for our members.
  • RIBA Influencing Government Policy by Anna Scott-Marshall, Head of External Affairs - Following on from the autumn political party conference season and with the political debate hotting up in the lead up to the General Election 2015, hear the latest on the RIBA’s position on the issues concerning members and plans for campaigns to influence policy change.
  • Optional Session 1(A): Building on Firm Foundations: Help to succeed in International Trade by Christine Johnson, UKTI East Midlands International Trade Adviser. (OR)
  • Optional Session 1 (B): ‘Effective Communication, Helping you to professionally present yourself and your ideas by Judith Gilmour - How much time do you spend on trying to bring in new projects to the office? Getting the brief, writing the submission, negotiating for the right personnel, getting the concept design to work, devising clever visuals - and yet never taking the time to train the team of people who are responsible for selling all that hard and expensive background work to the potential client. So Coming second isn’t good enough! Taking time to plan and prepare the Pitch is vital. Judith Gilmore will take you through the ingredients which could help you to win more Pitches.
  • RIBA Awards 2014 call for entries - 2014 Awards entries commence at the beginning of January. Be amongst the first to receive information on the award categories and entry requirements.
  • Launch of 2014 CPD Programme - Hot off the press details on our series of 2014 seminars, including 10 covering the RIBA core curriculum, plus a special CPD Club Membership offer.
