Join RIBA Exeter Branch for its Annual Lecture and drinks reception

RIBA Exeter is delighted to invite you to an evening with Piers Taylor, a renowned award-winning architect, broadcaster and academic.

Piers will be speaking about recent projects including his work at Hadspen House in Somerset where they have just completed several new buildings for a major new hotel. He will also discuss a new house in Indiana, USA that the studio is currently working on, a coastal house in Cornwall as well as their continuing work at Westonbirt Arboretum where they have won a new project recently. In addition, Piers will be talking about the £7m new community-led coastal development at Watchet that will reinvigorate the North Somerset coast and provide 37 jobs.

Invisible Studio

Piers' Invisible Studio won a RIBA National Award and Regional Award in 2017 and the RIBA South West Sustainability Award 2017 for the Wolfson Tree Management Centre at Westonbirt Arboretum.

His built work has been published extensively and internationally, and typically pushes boundaries in terms of cost, technique and process. He is known for his resourceful ‘thinking outside of the box’ and his challenging of mainstream convention in architecture and in education.

Piers’ work includes several major BBC Two Series 'The World's Most Extraordinary Homes', 'The House that £100k Built' and 'Britain's Most Spectacular Backyard Builds'… and he was crowned the winner of Celebrity Mastermind in December 2016.

A regular contributor to the Architects’ Journal, and having previously written for Blueprint, Building Design and the Architectural Review, Piers' talk is anticipated to be extremely relevant and critical of architecture today.
