Event description

Description

The housing projects built in Camden in the 1960s and 1970s, when Sydney Cook was Borough Architect are widely regarded as the most important urban housing to be built in the UK in the past century. Cook recruited some of the brightest talent available in London at the time and the schemes that they designed command admiration to this day.

Mark Swenarton, Emeritus Professor of Architecture at the University of Liverpool and author of the recent book 'Cook's Camden: The Making of Modern Housing' will talk about what was involved during this remarkable episode and about the principal projects.

**Attendance at the RIBA Hampshire Lectures costs £5 per Lecture per person, payable on the door on the day** Pre-book your place below - please indicate your category of RIBA membership, or if you are not an RIBA member.
