Join us for the third of our 2025 RIBA South Conservation Group in-person events with a special tour of Rochester Cathedral, led by John Bailey, Director at Thomas Ford & Partners.

Rochester Cathedral is one of England’s most significant historic buildings, embodying centuries of worship, craftsmanship, and community life. Over the past decade, an extensive programme of conservation work has been carried out, safeguarding its fabric while supporting its ongoing use as a place of worship and heritage.

About the Speaker:

John Bailey is a Director of Thomas Ford & Partners, a practice with nearly a century of experience in historic building conservation. Over the past 35 years, John has worked with around 600 ecclesiastical buildings, including the care of three English cathedrals. His expertise extends to work with the National Trust and many significant historic sites. A former Chairman of the SPAB and President of the EASA, John is also a three-time winner of the King of Prussia’s Gold Medal.

Agenda:

  • 1:45pm – Meet at the North Door, Rochester Cathedral
  • 2:00pm – 4:00pm – Guided tour of Rochester Cathedral with John Bailey
  • From 4:00pm – Light refreshments and networking at The George Vaults, Rochester

Cancellations must be made in writing to riba.sse@riba.org No refunds can be made for cancellations notified within 30 days of the event.

To transfer your ticket/s to another individual/s, please contact riba.sse@riba.org. Tickets are to be transferred at least 14 days prior to the event.

If the RIBA has to postpone or cancel the event the booker is entitled to a full refund of the ticket price less any Eventbrite fees.
