RIBA S/SE Conservation Group – RIBA Conservation Registrar's Update

For this month's talk we will be joined by Artemis Sofokleous and Jack Snape, RIBA Conservation Registrars .

Artemis and Jack will provide a presentation, covering the accomplishments of the RIBA Conservation Register over the past year, and informing attendees of our upcoming initiatives. Jack will first present about the mentoring programme and its development, specialist CPD content, and a new international case study series which is being put together. Artemis will then outline the future vision of the register, including the potential for awards, opportunities for members, and initial plans for the 2021 Annual Forum.

There will also be time allocated at the end of the presentation for members to ask any questions to the Specialist Registrars.

Presenters: Artemis Sofokleous & Jack Snape – RIBA Specialist Registrars

Artemis and Jack work as the Specialist Registrars at the RIBA, managing the Conservation Register and working with the Conservation Group.

Artemis has an academic background in building conservation and has previously worked for the Government Advice (now Policy) team of Historic England. Currently, she supports the Head of Professional Standards as a Specialist Registrar to develop, manage and promote the RIBA Conservation and Client Adviser Registers through assessment, accreditation and training material. Furthermore, she supports and facilitates the RIBA Expert Advisory and Steering Groups in order to deliver related content for members and professionals in the field.

Jack, a former wall painting conserver, has worked at the RIBA for one year, operating as the Specialist Registrar. Within the team, Jack now focuses his efforts at developing the conservation-specific elements of the RIBA CPD programme, running a mentoring programme, and promoting the registers through publications and newsletters.
