Event description

Rice 4 Life – Skydive 2017

Thank you for stepping forward to #SaveTheUmmah

You are about to undertake the BIGGEST and most exhilarating challenge of YOUR LIFE!

You have volunteered to SkyDive – that is to jump out of a plane from 13,000ft to help save life!

Welcome to the Rice 4 Life campaign with Muslim Charity.

Muslim Charity has been one of the leading organisations in responding to emergency crisis around the world for 16 years and has worked in over 16 countries providing humanitarian assistance during disasters as well as sustainable development.

The Rice 4 Life campaign will support the poorest and needy families that live in the Sunamganj area in Bangladesh who have suffered the most devastating floods in recent memory.

Covering an area over 200,000 hectares the floods have completely wiped out all the paddy fields of rice and taken away the livelihoods of thousands of people and put their survival at risk.

The people of Sunamganj desperately need our help.

The goal of the Rice 4 Life is to save 1000 families by providing them withRice to save them from starvation and malnutrition.

Your Skydive will see us collectively assist the poverty stricken people of Sunamganj with dignity until the waters subside and they can again sow their crops.

For more information about the campaign please contact Jamal on 07956 167 387 or Harun on 07472 774 755.

Is there an age limit?

You must be 16 and over but there is no upper limit.

How much do I need to raise?

Your target will be to raise enough for 20-25 sacks of rice. Each Rice sack is £25 that means your target will be £625.

What is the donation policy?

All the donations you raise will be used to buy the Rice making it 100% donation policy. The gift aid collected from the donations will be used to mitigate against the cost of your Skydive.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

We can provide transport for all the jumpers who will be traveling from London and there is free parking for those making their own way.

What kind of clothes should I wear?

All specialist equipment and clothing will be provided i.e. Jumpsuit, helmet, goggles, and gloves. On the day of your jump, you should dress in comfortable clothes and preferably trainers or closed toe shoes.

What if the weather is bad on the day of my jump?

All aviation activity is dependent on suitable weather conditions and Parachuting is no exception. UK weather is notoriously difficult to forecast, especially more than 24 hours in advance. Should there be adverse weather we will need to rearrange another suitable date. But there will be no extra cost to you.

I'm I insured?

All the jumpers are insured by the sky diving company.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

You will have been allocated a Team Leader:

Gents contact Yazeed Mulla – 07526 053 750

Ladies contact Maryam Makda – 07758668718

Please refer to the WatsApp group for general queries

What if I cancel?

The charity receives favorable rates from the Skydive company but if anyone fails to turn up the charity must pay the full costs of a jump. So if you have any issues with the dates please get in touch with us as early as possible so we can make alternative arrangements.
