About this event

Richard Alan Engineering is one of the UK’s leading fabrication companies, offering an end-to-end engineering service that includes design, fabrication and installation of custom steel storage tanks, silos, pressure vessels, reactor vessels, mixing vessels, structural steelwork, pipework and Electrical, instrumentation and controls (EI&C) engineering.

With the capability of delivering a full turnkey project solution, supported by our specialist design engineers, this broad skill set was utilised on the HiRECORD carbon capture project, which is destined for trials on sites in Greece over the next two years.

Following the successful manufacture of a prototype, one tonne per day carbon capture system in collaboration with Newcastle University, Richard Alan was invited to join a consortium comprising of European universities and businesses, established to upscale this technology to a 10-tonne-per-day test skid. The consortium subsequently applied for, and secured, a €15m grant from the Horizon Europe funding programme to support this initiative and project HiRECORD was born.

Since then, Richard Alan and the HiRECORD consortium have continued to advance the concept towards a fully-operational skid, as shown in the image.

We're pleased that before it leaves Dewsbury for sunnier climes, Richard Alan are inviting local businesses and clients, past & present, to come and see the result of these significant innovation, R&D and collaboration efforts. This CKMA member-only event promises to what's possible when adopting a growth midset in running your business and building on the the breadth and depth of what's possible when building on our tradition of collaboration, expertise, capabilities and craftsmanship faced with the challenges of supply chains, climate change and the need for global innovation.
