Event description

Description

Get hands-on with the latest Hasselblad cameras, including the world’s first compact, mirrorless digital medium format camera, the Hasselblad X1D, at this Richard Caplan Hasselblad Open Day in the heart of London.

At less than half the weight of a conventional digital medium format camera, the mirrorless X1D is a game changer in the world of photography.

Inspired by Hasselblad's iconic design heritage, the camera is ergonomic and compact, offering a handling experience unlike any other. Handmade in Sweden, the X1D combines Scandinavian sensibility with beautiful performance.

Also on show will be the latest evolution of the Hasselblad H-Series camera, the Hasselblad H6D, boasting an all new electronic platform, 50MP and 100MP sensor options, a high resolution touchscreen interface, USB3 connectivity and video recording capabilities.

Simply register and drop-in at any time throughout the day to get up close and personal with the cameras, with a studio style shoot for some test shots, and Hasselblad technicians on hand to answer any questions or queries, all in a relaxed atmosphere complimented by drinks and a nibble or two.

FAQs

Do I have to register?

It isn't completely necessary to pre-register for the event, and you can just turn up on the day. However, we would prefer you to register as if turning up on the day, you will still be asked for your details upon arrival, so pre-registering enables you to give us these details in advance and save you time on the day itself.

Can I bring a guest/friend?

Yes, certainly. However, as a free event, we'd ask that each person simply registers themselves to be added to our attendance list.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Being London, parking is very limited. Therefore, public transport is advised, with Green Park station on the Jubilee, Victoria and Piccadilly Lines, Piccadilly station on the Bakerloo and Piccadilly Lines, and Charing Cross on the Bakerloo and Northern Lines being the nearest underground stations.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, just give us your name on arrival and we can tick you off the list.

What can I do with the test shots?

Any test shots you take at the event are for your own review purposes only. They cannot be published as part of a portfolio or used commercially due to the nature of the event and the agreements we have with any model we may use at the event.

Can I bring my own camera?

You are welcome to bring your own camera but only for the purpose of capturing a few tests shots to compare to the Hasselblad files. As a Hasselblad event, all of the shooting should be done on the Hasselblad cameras and any comparison shots should be kept to an absolute minimum. Please note that the usage restrictions of the images would still apply to any shots taken on your own camera.

How long do I need to attend for?

You can drop-in any time throughout the day (11am to 7pm), and you can stay as long as you like within this time. On average, if you are pushed for time, a brief play with the cameras would only take about 30 minutes, and for thorough tests and a chat, you would be looking at between 1 and 2 hours.
