Did you know?
During the 1940s Leeds was the only place in the north of England making neon signs. The city shops must have been aglow. Trained at Edinburgh School of Art and Sunderland, Richard is currently collaborating with artist, Victoria Lucas to challenge the common expectations of the materials in an ambitious project entitled ’12 Months of Neon Love’.
Richard is fearless, passionate and energetic about his work and takes his medium into installation, film and the landscape.
‘Filling glass with inert gas and exciting it with electricity, creating your own light in the wilderness is a very God-like thing’.
This event is free to professionals in the creative, digital and cultural sectors. To reserve your place please visit www.creativenetworks2011-09.eventbrite.com or call Creative Networks on 01422 399444.

For the 2016/17 academic year we are focusing our attention on our partners, collaborators and people contributing great things to the arts, creative industries and the city of Leeds, along with our alumni, students and staff to create a buzz at each event.
Our events are still free of charge, although we have introduced a refundable deposit so we can accurately calculate attendance.
Parking – due to the building works at the college, parking is not currently available on site. The nearest pay and display car park in Woodhouse Lane Car Park (LS2 3AX).
Transport - Leeds College of Art is approximately 15 minutes walk from Leeds Train Station. Several buses run past the Blenheim Walk campus, including the number 1, 6, and 97.
