RICHFIELDS Stakeholders Workshop
RICHFIELDS aims to design a consumer-data platform to collect and connect, compare and share information about food behaviours, and revolutionise research about every-day food choices. The first two phases will deliver in depth knowledge about available consumer-related data (e.g. type and quality). Based on this, the (future) requirements for a research infrastructure design will be developed.
Objective of the workshop:
To assess the measurement and inference scope of big data that might feed into RICHFIELDS, vis-à-vis the core constructs of purchase, procurement, preparation and consumption.
Two issues must be addressed explicitly to address the objective:
Measurement (unit of observation): What do outputs from Phase 1 and Phase 2 tell us about the main units of observation, based on data that might be streamed into RICHFIELDS?
Inference (interpretation): What data could be analysed and what questions might such analysis answer, vis-à-vis the four constructs of purchase, procurement, preparation and consumption?
