Event description
How Language and Culture Affect How Multinational Teams Work: Luisa Weinzierl will lead a discussion based on her research.

About this Event

November’s meeting promises to be a lively and topical discussion. As consultants working in a diverse culture, such as the UK working across multinational organisations, this promises to be a topic that impacts us all, especially in the current virtual working world. Blindness and lack of appreciation of subtle and not so subtle language and cultural differences can quickly undermine the quality of relationships and the interventions that consultants may be concerned with.

At the RG lunchtime meeting we are fortunate to be able to welcome Luisa Weinzierl who will lead a discussion on her research into “how language and culture affect how multinational teams work”

Luisa is a senior international HR professional, linguist and accredited business coach, who successfully worked across cultures on a daily basis for many years. As a PhD candidate and Lecturer in HR at St. Mary’s University, Luisa brings a wealth of knowledge and personal experience to her research and students. Her career to date has spanned several continents – Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, bringing effective change management solutions in complex multicultural environments through personal coaching, intercultural communication training programmes for managers and international conflict resolutions.

The meeting will open at 12.30 for networking, the facitated discussion will start at 13.00.
