See many of the Richmond area's top attractions at handle bar level on this scenic tour. Led by an expert local guide, you will experience a microcosm of British history, royal and architectural heritage, the rustic charm of open parklands, picturesque riverside and even part of the London Olympics 2012 cycling route.
In this fascinating and easy-paced day out, you will cycle past Richmond, Ham House, Teddington Lock, Kingston, Hampton Court Palace, Strawberry Hill House, Twickenham, Eel Pie Island and Marble Hill House, all linked by royal deer parks and the magnificent River Thames. There are frequent stops along the way for talks, photos and a lunch break.
The ticket price includes bike hire, security lock and safety helmet. A returnable deposit and photo ID are required for bike hire. The tour is restricted to children age 12 and over. Children age 12-16 must wear a safety helmet.
How long is the tour and how fit do I need to be?
The tour lasts for around 6 hours including frequent stops and a lunch break. Typically you will be pedalling for 4 hours at an easy pace. The distance is 20 miles (32 kms). You will need to have some previous experience of cycling and be reasonably fit.
What type of terrain does the ride cover?
Terrain is generally off-road along paved paths and gravel tracks. There is limited road cycling along quiet side roads and the dedicated cycle sections of other roads. There is a limited amount of walking your bike over busier road crossings and a short, easy climb in the first stage of the tour, then occasional freewheel descents.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Frequent trains to Richmond station from London Waterloo (only 20 minutes by fast train), London Overground and London Underground District Line. Various bus routes. Paid parking available at the station.
