About this event
The Richmond Trustee Network provides trustees and committee members with support and opportunities to meet with peers to share knowledge and experience. We want you to feel inspired, well-informed and supported in your roles.
Thinking strategically and being strategic are vital roles for any charity trustee, but there is often confusion over what exactly these words mean and who is responsible. This Trustee Network session has been specially designed to help existing (and prospective) trustees understand their role in strategy development, and to share a proven process for formulating a strategic plan.
There are three other drivers for “better” strategic thinking – firstly, donors expect organisations to deliver “impact”; secondly, you need a framework to monitor and assess your progress; and thirdly, your beneficiaries probably have an interest in what you deliver and want to be consulted and involved.
This 1.5-hour lunchtime session will include practical exercises to help develop your understanding and skills in thinking strategically and tools which you can use or share with others to develop your organisational strategy. We will also use breakout rooms so you can share experiences.
Participants will be sent a course workbook (with worksheets and selected strategic analysis tools) in advance and the slides will be shared after the event. We are also offering follow-up support if required.
