Talk by Dr Rick Dolphijn (Utrecht University) on the need for a revised, post-COVID-19 conception of governmentality.
About this event
What happened to life, to politics, to surveillance, since the arrival of the coronavirus to our cities? In this meditation the aim is to see in what way Foucault’s idea of governmentality needs to be revised according to these post-2020 conditions. Preciado claims that Foucault taught us that “the living (therefore mortal) body is the central object of all politics”. So how should we understand the politics of the parasite in our times?
