Do I need Insurance?

We recommend that all participants purchase their own cycle insurance before the event.

How fit do I need to be?

Due to the distance, a reasonable level of fitness is required and recommend that all cyclists have trained for the event, we do stress that this event is NOT a race and encourage riders to go at their own pace and enjoy the ride

Question 3

I don't want to cycle but want to help out on the day, can I volunteer?

Will there be toilets?

There will be toilet facilities at some of the stops however please be aware that they may be restricted by the opening times of the venues. Please also note that disabled toilets are not available at every stop, however they will be available at the start and finish

Is there an age restriction?

We ask that all cyclists are over the age of 16 and have an awareness of the highway code as it applies to cyclists

What will be provided at the stops?

We will provide bottles of water and a member of our team in case there are any issues you need to address. There will also be toilet facilities at all stops, however not all venues will have food and drink to purchase.

No, you will need to make your own way to / from the start / finish point

Do I need to bring anything on the day?

We would recommend that all cyclists carry spare inner tubes, a puncture repair kit and pump, water, cash, waterproofs, suncream and a phone charger/power bank for use with RideWithGPS.

How do I book my place?

Question 10

Do I need to wear a cycling helmet?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we will not allow you to take part in the event without a cycling helmet so please bring your own, we will not provide any.

Question 11

Can I register on the day of the ride?

Accepted Answer

We strongly recommend that you book your place in advance to guarantee entry, however some spaces may be available on the day. Please refer to our social media platforms for updated information.

Question 12

Is the route signposted?

Accepted Answer

The route will not be signposted. The route will be provided to participants to be used in the RideWithGPS App so you or a person in your group must have this App downloaded before you attend registration. We can assist you with this.

Question 13

What if I have a medical problem on the ride?

Accepted Answer

We may not have a qualified first aider available on the day, if you have a medical emergency or feel unwell or witness another cyclist have an accident or become unwell, please contact the emergency number and call 999 for an ambulance.

Question 14

What if I have a mechanical problem on the ride?

Accepted Answer

We recommend that all cyclists carry with them spare inner tubes, a puncture repair kit and pump and have a basic knowledge of cycle repair. We hope to have a mechanic available on the day and if there is any problem you cannot fix yourself, please contact the emergency number on the route guide .

Do I need to know the highway code?

We recommend that all participants in the ride make themselves aware of the highway code as it applies to cyclists: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/rules-for-cyclists-59-to-82

Question 16

What happens if I am unable to ride on the day?

Accepted Answer

As this is a charity ride all entrance fees will be non-refundable, however you can transfer your place to another person as long as you give 48 hours' notice and the person who takes your place accepts all our terms and conditions, you must email us to confirm.

Can I use a Hand Cycle / Recumbent?

The ride is suitable for Road Bikes, Mountain Bikes, Hand Cycles and Recumbents

Question 18

What happens if the weather is bad on the day?

The event will take place unless we have extreme weather conditions on the day which will put cyclists at risk. Please check our social media platforms for an update on the day in case of cancellation. `

What is the latest we can set off?

Accepted Answer

The last group will be leaving at 9am but we recommend leaving earlier if possible
