Ride with Confidence - Starter Session
Our 2 stage course will give you everything you need to feel confident riding a bike. This includes getting your bike comfortable for you, learning how to fix simple things like a puncture or dropped chain while riding and how to feel in control riding in traffic or on a gravel cycle path.
In this session we will cover:
Preparing to ride – we start by learning how to check our bike before riding and how to set it up to be comfortable for you. We will also talk about what clothing works well and what to take with you.
Mid Ride Repairs – what do you do if you get a puncture on a ride? We will teach you exactly what to do and how to get quickly on your way again. You will also learn how to remount your chain should it come off and a few other tips to keep you going trouble free.
Riding skills – you will learn important, easily repeatable skills to make riding second nature and allow you to focus on enjoying the ride. These include: starting and stopping smoothly, cornering, how to use gears and using your position on the road to take control of each situation.
