Riding the Waves - positive coping skills for children and parents (evening...
Tue 1 November 2016, 18:30 – 20:00 GMT
Riding the Waves is a unique course that parents and their children can do together to learn how to relax, manage anxiety and deal with conflicts.
This 6 week course (a two day course over two weekends is also available if evenings don't suit - link at bottom of text) explores some of the science behind our emotional reactions. Once we know this we can start to make positive changes and have more positive emotions. You and your child will gain an understanding of what is going on in our brains and our bodies and how to help ourselves to manage emotions such as anger and anxiety together. We will be doing a range of activities including relaxation, craft and creating video clips. It is suitable for children from 9 - 13 years. This is approximate, please contact us if your child is out of this age range but you think they would benefit. Contact Jenny on 07941386572.
The plan is that we will run each Tuesday evening from 20th September - 1st November (except Tuesday 11th October). The course is due to run from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. The sessions will finish with relaxation activities so hopefully this will be the perfect activity before bed.
The cost of the course is £5 per session so £30 for the six sessions. You will need to book by paying at least half (£15) to secure your space with the rest being paid once the course has started. If you prefer to pay in one transaction that option is available.
If your paypal email address is different to your usual email address please email firstname.lastname@example.org so that I can contact you prior to the course starting. You will receive a short questionnaire prior to the course starting.
I (Jenny) will be running the course. If you would like to find out more about me please see connectemotionaleducation.weebly.com
