At Incredible Edible we've always said that the best way to get a nation-wide Right to Grow, is to trial a whole host of different approaches in different places, so that we can all learn from each other.
As a small but dedicated group in Cumberland watched the Right to Grow campaign unfold, they too wanted to simplify access to public land for food growing projects in the place they call home. They wanted to support the aims of the Right to Grow campaign - to remove ambiguity, reduce delays, and empower residents to reclaim green space for good. But they felt a slightly different approach was in order; a lisence to grow.
Join us for the next Right to Grow Learning Network which will offer a practical and inspiring look at how Cumberland is cultivating community resilience through food.
Topics include:
🌱 Cumberland’s Right to Food
🌱 Community food growing in Cumberland
🌱 Common barriers to growing on public land and how Cumberland has overcome them
🌱 The development and impact of the Licence to Grow
🌱 Real-life examples of successful Licence to Grow sites
🌱 Opportunities to shape the future of local food systems
We'll also have time in the session for questions and discussion, and to hear from others working towards a Right to Grow.
Whether you're a local authority, community organiser, grower, or simply curious, this session is a chance to connect, learn, and grow together.
