Event description
Briefing on EEA welfare, housing and homelessness rights in Scotland with case studies and Q&A, led by Iain Chisholm NMAP Leader

About this event

The UK is no longer a member of the European Union, the transition period ended, the Settled Status scheme enters it’s final months and the new Immigration Act takes hold. EEA nationals’ rights are more complex than ever at a time when the economy is struggling through the effects of Covid 19. For housing providers, local authorities and 3rd sector organisations it will be more important than ever to be able to offer EEA tenants and service users excellent advice at the earliest stage, to help prevent unnecessary poverty, rent arrears and evictions. You will be briefed on fundamental issues of housing, homelessness and welfare entitlements of EEA nationals and we will look at how your service users might prepare themselves to avoid the threats of Brexit.
